Customized market research support to help businesses identify new markets, explore new species, or expand existing products.

Community Engagement Event Grants

Small grants providing financial support to farmers hosting community engagement events to build social license for their farms.

Farmer to Farmer Exchange Program

Funding for aquaculture farmers to connect with other farmers around the world for peer learning, knowledge exchange, and outreach.

Business Development Grants

Grants to support business growth, innovation, and development for Maine aquaculture enterprises at various stages.

Research Funding Opportunities

MAIC currently has one research funding opportunity for projects that can quickly respond to urgent and pressing aquaculture-related issues.

Rapid Response Funding

Open to individuals, academic institutions, non-profits, and businesses — for time-sensitive opportunities and emerging needs.

Incubation Spaces & Gear Lending

Access world-class aquaculture facilities and borrow equipment to test, prototype, and grow your operation.

Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research

One of the most extensive aquaculture facilities available to businesses anywhere — with tank space, marine recirculation technology, an advanced marine fish hatchery, and business development support.

Darling Marine Center

A University of Maine facility offering pilot-scale research and culture space with flowing and recirculating fresh and salt water systems for startups and established businesses.                 

MAIC Sea Farmer Lending Library

A collection of sensors and other equipment available for borrowing by industry members. MAIC is currently revamping the library with a streamlined lending process — relaunching this summer.
