Japanese Seaweed Tech Transfer

In June 2024 a delegation of Maine seaweed professionals traveled to Hokkaido, the largest of Japan's islands and the northernmost prefecture for a tech transfer trip to learn about Japan's iconic seaweed industry. In this webinar Liz MacDonald, Seaweed Supply Director at Atlantic Sea Farms & Jax Robidoux, Seaweed Specialist Extension Associate at Maine Sea Grant, will share learnings from their travels on kelp farming, processing and the cultural importance of the Japanese seaweed industry.
